Hear the Bern!
Phish Drummer to Play with Local Musicians at Bernie Sanders Campaign Event
Philadelphia! Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to… vote?
Yes, you read that right. Today is the last day for Pennsylvania residents to register to vote in the upcoming primary and Jon Fishman, drummer for the legendary band Phish and Philadelphia native, will be appearing at various voter registration events throughout the day, up until the 11:59 p.m. registration deadline, to encourage potential voters to register.
Fishman will make his final stop for the day at North Bowl, located at 909 N. Second St., from 9 p.m. to midnight. Fishman will inspire fans young and old to feel the Bern by playing an infectious night of music amongst many special guests including Eli Winderman (Dopapod), Joe Baldacci (Muscle Tough), Ross Bellenoit (Muscle Tough), Jon Coleman (Muscle Tough), Clay Parnell (Particle), and Ian McGuire (CIA), with support from local DJ’s Risky Disko. The campaign for Bernie Sanders’ website boasts this will be “a voter registration drive like you’ve never seen.”
Fishman first made an appearance in Philly yesterday at a meet and greet at CineMug on Broad. Before the North Bowl event, Fishman can be found helping to register voters at Philly Sweettooth, 630 S. Fourth St., from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
All the events featuring Fishman celebrate the March 26 opening of Bernie Sanders’ newest campaign office in South Philadelphia. Registered Pennsylvania voters will vote in the primary on April 26, 2016.
